With all of these invitation options, it is so easy to overlook important parts of invitations and that is why I always suggest using a profession stationary designer. I asked three of my favorite stationary designers to help me in getting the low down on invitations and wedding stationary!Read More
This styled shoot turned real wedding was a dream to create. We had a submission after our model call and we read a story of a husband and wife who got married quickly and never got the chance to have the wedding they really wanted. Their love story was really touching and we couldn't help but fall in love with their submission. All of the vendors jumped at the chance to plan a REAL wedding for them! This shoot quickly turned into the real life husband and wife's dream wedding--minus the guests. We had everything from the altar, a head table, the cake cutting, and we topped the night off with champagne bottle popping and a first dance for the lovely couple.Read More
There couldn't have been more love that filled the room when these two shared their first dance. Janet and Daniel are truly a special couple and their love will go on for ages. The two of them exchanged vows at the historical Boone Hall Plantation grounds, right under the Avenue of the Oaks. This wedding was filled with a paint ceremony, lots of happy tears and tons of laugher. This was definitely one for the books for Purple Dress.Read More
Creating this 1940s lakeside elopement was so much fun. I love that I was able to use a lot of color into this day! Fun fact: we created the color scheme around the bride's beautiful departure dress. Our bride and groom started out by wearing traditional wear for their ceremony and then, for their picnic reception, they themselves into an adorable 1940s inspired couple straight out of The Notebook! Seriously, at one point, I had to remind myself that they were not Allie a Noah!Read More
This styled shoot was in the making for quite a while. When I first got engaged, I dreamed of a wedding in my parents backyard. Once we started on a guest list and looking at how many people we were actually inviting, my husband, parents, and I realized very fast that there was no way we could fit that number of people in the backyard.Read More
Buried deep between the rolling hills of West Virginia, just a few miles down the road from my grandparents farm, lies a small white church. A church where my grandparents and parents got married, and where my great grandmother was laid to rest. The grounds of the church hold many childhood memories for me. I try to visit as often as I can, but there is one special Saturday I always reserve. The first Saturday of August. The church hosts their annual Chicken Dinner. The dinner has been hosted for 84 years and every year brings new memories and stories to tell. The dinner has changed in very few ways over the years, but one thing that stays constant is the good food, wonderful people, and beautiful display of desserts!Read More
Carrie was a beautiful bride and her bubbly personality spilled out all over the field we were shooting in. Thanks to Hannah Hicks and Megan O'Dell for being so fun to work with and for allowing me to share their photos below!Read More
One of the hardest tasks I had to complete for our wedding was choosing a gift for my future husband! He is the type of person who will always just go and buy what he wants on his own. In fact, I was eyeing a beautiful watch and was going to attach a note to it saying 'see you at 2!'...a week later I spotted it on his wrist. So, there I went, starting my quest all over again. I have compiled a list of the best things I have come across to get your future spouse. Enjoy!Read More
Thinking about a person in the jewelry store picking out a ring that is perfect for their significant other gives me all the goosey feels. I don't know the thought process that goes through picking a ring that will sit on someone's hand as a symbol of love for you, but thinking about my husband in the store, thinking about the ring he's going to give me, makes me get the happy tears.Read More

I'm going to be really honest for a second. I have a problem...a shoe problem!
I'm obsessed; flats, heels, wedges, booties, sandals...I love them all! And have WAY too many. Nevertheless, recently, I have become obsessed with nude/neutral wedding shoes and have listed my absolute favorites below.
December 19th, 2015 was truly a fairytale. Mark and I spent two years planning our wedding day and it was flawless. I couldn't wait to share my very own wedding with all of you! Enjoy!Read More
